Police raided a facility that houses the server of the Democratic Labor Party (DLP), Thursday, on suspicion that some civil service union members participated in the progressive party's activities.
They suspect that some 300 members of the Korean Government Employee's Union (KGEU) and the Korean Teachers and Educational Workers Union (KTU) joined the DLP and more than one third of them cast ballots in electing its leaders.
``Among those being questioned, more than 120 of them appear to have participated in the DLP's polls,'' an officer said.
Police also summoned 17 KTU members and 14 KGEU members to question them on their party affiliations and whether they had financially contributed to the DLP.
The party claimed last week that police either hacked the server or illegally used personal information to crack down on the union members' participation in the party.
Under the law, public servants and school teachers are banned from joining political parties or taking collective action and must remain neutral in politics.
