Canadian singer Shania Twain is a perfect face and British actress Elizabeth Hurley comes close, Britain’s BBC reported quoting researchers at two universities who have found what they consider to be ``the golden ratio’’ or perfect distance between a woman’s eyes and mouth that determines whether she is thought to be beautiful.
Angelina Jolie, however, doesn't make the cut.
The Toronto Star, reporting on the work of psychologist teams at the University of Toronto and the University of California, San Diego, worked out the exact ratio:
The distance between the eyes and mouth is 36 percent of the depth of the face while the perfect distance between the middle of the eyes should be 46 percent of the width of the face.
The study appears in the journal Vision Research.
To conduct the research, the university psychologists used Photoshop to alter the facial distances of eyes and mouth on photographs of women, then asked students to rate what they considered to be attractive.
샤니아 트웨인 황금비율 얼굴
황금비율의 얼굴을 가진 유명인으로 캐나다의 팝 가수 샤니아 트웨인이 이름을 올렸다.
BBC는 캐나다 토론토 대학 연구팀이 완벽한 가로, 세로의 비율을 가진 얼굴을 찾는 실험을 한 결과를 비전리서치에 보도했다.
영국의 여배우 엘리자베스 헐리는 세로 비율은 맞았지만 가로에서는 미달되었으며 안젤리나 졸리는 가로, 세로 비율 모두 맞지 않았다.
눈과 입 사이의 거리가 얼굴 전체 길이의 36%, 양쪽 눈동자 사이 거리가 가로 얼굴 폭의 46%일 때 가장 이상적인 얼굴이라고 밝히며, 모든 조건을 모두 충족시키는 얼굴을 가진 이가 샤니아 트웨인이라고 전했다.
