Lucky strainers for New Year: Korean Air stewardesses hang bokjori, a Korean traditional strainer to bring good tidings, at their office in Seoul, Friday. The sifters were made by Park Sung-soo, considered to be the best maker in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province. In cooking, the hand-made sieve is used to separate impure elements, including small pebbles from rice.
