Ewha Womans University, the world's largest women-only university, has decided to not increase next year's tuition following this year.
Lee Bae-yong, president of the university, said, "Although we had difficulties in running the school as we didn't raise tuition this year, we have decided to do so next year as well in an effort to share the financial difficulties of parents and students, and encourage students not to give up their studies due to money problems."
In addition, Ewha has introduced a tuition loan program and set aside 3 billion won in scholarship funds.
According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, tuition in Korea averages some 10 million won annually.
