Taiwan's military has apologized over photos on an excessively exposed female soldier in circulation on the Internet, five months after a group of male troops were punished over a sex video.
The Malaysian Mirror.com and other foreign media reported Wednesday that the woman soldier could be dismissed over the excessive exposure in a press conference the previous day.
"We wish to express our sincere apologies... for the internal management problems,'' Liu Chih-chian, a spokesman of the Combined Logistics Command, told a news conference.
Recently, the 22-year-old woman soldier put her photo taken with her colleagues on her blog. In the photos, the sergeant, identified only by her surname Chen, was seen lifting her uniform to show her bra and just before kissing with other women soldiers, apparently while at her barracks.
Seventeen servicemen were punished in July over a video involving two male sergeants engaged in homosexual acts while on duty, in an incident that sparked public outrage.
노출사진 대만여군 파면 위기
대만에서 20대 여군이 최근 노출 사진을 공개해 논란이 일고 있는 가운데 군 대변인이 해당 여군들의 파면 가능성을 제기해 추후 징계 여부가 주목되고 있다.
16일 말레이시안미러닷컴 등 외신들에 따르면 대만 연합병참사령부 대변인은 지난 15일 가진 대만여군 노출사진 관련 기자회견에서 해당 여군들이 면직될 수도 있다고 밝혔다.
이날 리우 치치앤 대변인은 기자회견에서 "내부 관리문제로 생긴 일에 대해 진심으로 사과드린다"고 말했다.
최근 대만 여군 첸(22)은 군 동료 여군들과 찍은 사진들을 자신의 블로그에 공개했다. 이 사진들 중 일부에는 병영으로 보이는 곳에서 옷을 들어 올려 자신의 속옷을 드러낸 모습과 여군들끼리 키스하기 직전의 모습 등 부적절한 사진들이 포함돼 있다.
지난 7월에는 국민의 분노를 산 하사관 2명의 근무 중 동성 섹스 비디오와 관련해 17명이 징계를 받았다.
