The students' association of Seoul National University declared an election for its president held from Nov. 17 to 25 invalid and announced a re-election from Wednesday.
The election management committee was accused of opening ballot boxes secretly before vote counting, and a candidate was found performing an illegal wiretap.
As election fraud was suspected, the council reorganized the election management committee.
However, the student body worries that rigged elections and negative reaction from students might result in the failure of the election and dissolution of next year's student leaders.
When the voting rate is lower than 50 percent, the student association is mandated to create a joint committee of representatives from each college.
