The largest opposition Democratic Party said Friday it would propose a bill to impeach Supreme Court Justice Shin Young-chul for his attempts to meddle in trials presided over by junior judges.
This is the first ever action to impeach an incumbent Supreme Court Justice.
But the endorsement of the bill at the National Assembly is highly unlikely because the ruling Grand National Party opposes it.
Woo Sang-ho, spokesman for the opposition party, said "Shin ignored our repeated calls for stepping down on his own."
Shin was embroiled in an influence-peddling scandal in March after a judge at the Seoul Central District Court disclosed multiple e-mails Shin sent to junior judges responsible for trials over anti-U.S. beef protestors to encourage them to speed up trials and find those accused guilty.

Donnie is correct what this guy did was try and use his authority over the lower courts to pass judgement on these protesters for legally protesting at night.. which he personally knew this law was most likely was going to be repealed..in the near future.. This Judge wanted these people to pay fines or go to jail... quickly to circumvent mercy.
Archie once again proves he doesn't know what he is talking about... and only uses the comment section to spool his hatred for Americans..

what he did should not be considered against the law and it was a minor thing not worthy of impeachment. too often americans want soemone to pay the ultimate price for a mistake and that is not just nor right. even some american lawmakers should not have lost their jobs over the few things they have said. time to keep things in perspective and make the punishment fit the crime.
