The Korean Railway Workers' Union said Friday it will stage two strikes - from Nov. 5 through 6 and once more in mid November.
The union is negotiating with KORAIL about abolishing the wage peak system, recruiting more staff, and scrapping a layoff plan.
It said 76.5 percent of members voted for the strike.
The union said the walkout will not cause any inconvenience to passengers as it is subject to a mandatory rule keeping a specified number of people at work.
