Korean Air, Alaska Airlines Expand Code-Shared Flights

By Do Je-hae
Staff Reporter

Korean Air will expand its code-shared operations with Alaska Airlines to 40 flights in the United States and Canada.

Previously, Korea's largest carrier operated 18 code-share flights with Alaska Airlines for U.S. connections only, including L.A.-Anchorage, Seattle-Portland and San Francisco-Palm Springs.

Some of the expanded code-shared flights are Seattle-Dallas, L.A.-San Francisco, Las Vegas-Portland, Seattle-Vancouver, L.A.-Vancouver and Vancouver-Portland.

Members of Skypass, Korean Air's frequent flyer program, can also collect miles on Alaska Airlines.

The code-share agreement between the two airlines became effective in July 2008.

Korean Air has the largest number of joint operation networks with carriers in North America, such as Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines.
