A 19-year-old old high school senior committed suicide Thursday in Wonju, Gangwon Province, on the day of the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).

The boy identified as Park was found dead on the grounds of a 20-storey apartment building located in Dangu-dong, Wonju.

He was found by his father at approximately 5:00 a.m. His father reported what appeared to be the suicide to the police.

According to the police, the father found the door of the boy's room locked. When he forced it open with a sharp object, the window was open and his son was missing. Then he went outside and found his son dead. The boy left a note saying, "thank you and sorry." The police believed that it was Park's handwriting. The police are taking these words as an indication that the boy jumped from his home on the 20th floor due to stress caused by the CSAT.

The police are still looking to establish a clearer motive.

Park graduated high school earlier in this year in February and has been preparing for the CSAT.
