Seoul City opened some parts of the Dongdaemun Design Park today where construction has been completed. When finished, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Park will be a combination of rich historical heritage and state-of-the-art cultural facilities.
The Seoul Fortress area, Dongdaemun History Museum, Dongdaemun Stadium Memorial and the Design Gallery all opened today.
At the Design Gallery, a media art performance on 38 47-inch-wide monitors titled "Seoul Color Seoul Story" will take place through Nov. 20. A photo exhibition of the Seoul Fortress will be held at the event hall.
The park is open 24 hours every day, except for New Year's Day and Chuseok, and the exhibitions are available from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
"The park will visualize connecting the past with the future and symbolize Seoul's identity as a historical and cultural city," a city official said.
