A Canadian man hit a 190 million won ($146,000) jackpot at the Gangnam branch of Seven Luck, one of the nation's foreigner-only casinos.
The man in his 20s hit the ``Mystery Jackpot Level 1'' on a slot machine around 6 p.m. Sunday, the casino said. The prize was 191.1 million won, the largest prize won since the Gangnam branch opened in January 2006, and he took home 149 million won after tax.
He bet about 100,000 won on the day, according to the casino. He was quoted by a casino worker as saying, ``I often enjoy the slot machines here on weekends. I think my life will change. I'm so happy.''
Mystery Jackpot Level 1 is a game where the winner takes all the money spent on the 112 slot machines in the branch.
So far, Seven Luck Gangnam branch's largest money prize was 188 million won given to a New Zealander last December. The largest among all branches ㅡ Gangnam, Millennium Seoul Hilton in northern Seoul and Busan Lotte ㅡ was a 193.6 million won jackpot won by a New Zealand English teacher at Busan Lotte in February last year.
