The Seoul Immigration Office opened a special center on the first floor of its building in Seoul, Wednesday to provide foreign investors with tailored consulting services on visas, investment, accounting, tax and other affairs, pursuant to the office’s aim to improve the investment climate and living conditions. Foreign scholars, researchers and scientists are also entitled to use the service center free of charge.
An opening ceremony at the office in Yangcheon-gu was participated in by Vice Justice Minister Lee Kwi-nam, Commissioner of the Korea Immigration Service Choo Kyu-ho, Seoul Immigration Office Director General Woo Ki-boong, Rep. Won Hee-ryong of the Grand National Party and dozens of foreign diplomats.
``We always welcome foreign investors and scholars,’’ Lee said in a congratulatory speech. ``The government will step up efforts to make better conditions for foreigners to invest and study here.’’
Non-Koreans running businesses and seeking opportunities to invest here and foreign professors and scientists can receive a variety of consulting services free of charge.
Korea Exchange Bank will send its staff to the center to provide a variety of financial services, including investment report procedures, the issuance of foreign investment certificates and investment consultation.
