Activists Go Naked Against Fur

Three anti-fur activists staged a nude performance in front of the Seoul Trade and Exhibition Center in southern Seoul Friday.

Identifying themselves as members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Asia-Pacific, Korea Animal Rights Advocates, and Animal Rights on Earth (CARE), the activists wore nothing but a banner reading, ``We'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur'' and strolled around the center. Other activists handed out leaflets explaining how animals suffer and die to produce fur-based clothing.

This rare protest here was organized on the occasion of Seoul Fashion Week ㅡ a biannual international fashion event held in spring and autumn. It began March 26 and will continue until April 2.

The protest went on peacefully for minutes without any clash with police.

``We'll gladly bare our skin if it will help save animals' skins,'' they said in a statement. ``In the 21st century, with so many stylish, comfortable alternatives to fur available, there's no excuse for supporting one of the most hideous industries on the planet.''

@archaeologist6 Besides reading your racist and xenophobic comments, I see that you are also very sexist. My "foreign girlfriend" (a South Korea) finds your comments very sad and she has sympathy for your stupidy - I do not. Have a nice life winner!!!
