Guus Hiddink is to contribute to the creation of Korea's football stars of the future.
The former head coach of the Korean national football team will build a 'Hiddink Soccer Center' (HSC). The Dutchman will visit the country next month to explain the plans for the facility.
Professional football coaches who have top UEFA coaching certificates will teach Korean teenagers theories, best practices, and philosophies of football. A youth training system is to be established with Korean local governments through the center. Hiddink will visit South Korea at least twice per year if the HSC gets the go-ahead.
Already, the 62-year-old has established the Guus Hiddink Foundation in the Netherlands. The foundation, set up in 2003, built two football grounds for the blind, at Choonjoo and Pohang, and a third will be built in Suwon in March.
Hiddink led South Korea to the semifinals at the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.
