N. Korea Says It Opposes Terrorism

Listen

Pyongyang has denounced the terror attacks in India's capital city that have claimed more than 150 lives.

North Korea opposes "all forms of terrorism" and "strongly condemns this inhuman terrorist deed," Kim Yong-nam, Pyongyang's No. 2 leader and ceremonial head of state, was quoted by the North's official Korean Central News Agency as saying, according to The Associated Press Saturday.

Kim’s remark was part of his condolence message to India’s president. Kim also expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the attacks in Mumbai and their families.

The violence began late Wednesday when gunmen attacked multiple places across the Indian capital.

North Korea was recently removed from the U.S. list of countries that sponsor terrorism after Pyongyang made a complying move to the demands of the international nuclear inspection.
