Faking Pregnancy Could Bring Divorce: Court

Faking pregnancy to marry a man could be a good grounds for divorce, a court ruled Thursday. A local court in Busan ruled in favor of a 30 year-year old man who filed for divorce against his 29 year-old wife, saying she fooled him by faking pregnancy.

According to the court, the woman told the man that she was pregnant right after they started dating last November. They moved in together and got married in May.

However, the wife later confessed that she wasn't pregnant when she initially told him so and that she finally fell pregnant after they started living together. Moreover, the woman was suffering from kidney failure, which could be critical to both the mother and the fetus' health.

The couple separated shortly after the confession and the husband filed for divorce.

The judge ruled in favor of the husband saying, ``The marriage would have never taken place hadn't she told him about the pregnancy. Also, concealing her health status that could be critical to the birth of a child is a big lie affecting the rest of the marriage.''
