The president of the Danish Supreme Court Torben Melchior will visit Seoul Monday for five days to share ideas with his Korean counterpart on judicial reform, which is underway in both countries, the Supreme Court said Sunday.

He is visiting Korea at the invitation of Supreme Court Chief Justice Lee Yong-hoon, who visited the Danish court in September.

A Danish Supreme Court judge Lene Pagter Kris Tensen and the court's chief administrator Lisa Rising will accompany the president.

``The two Supreme Court heads will discuss how to accelerate ongoing judicial reform and extend exchange programs between the two courts,'' the Korean Supreme Court said in a statement. ``We also expect the meeting to help increase our understanding of the Danish legal system.''

On the first day in Seoul, Torben will meet with Chief Justice Lee, National Assembly speaker Kim Hyung-o, and Justice Minister Kim Kyung-han.

On the following day, he will give a lecture on the judicial system of Denmark at the Seoul Central District Court.

The Danish Supreme Court was established in 1661 by King Frederic III on the occasion of the introduction of an absolute monarchy. It consists of a president and 19 other judges.
