Park Chul, Ok So-ri Both Blamed for Broken Marriage

By Kim Rahn
Staff Reporter

A local court said Friday that both Park Chul and Ok So-ri, a celebrity couple involved in a divorce suit, are responsible for the failed marriage.

Actor Park filed for divorce last year, accusing his wife of adultery. He also demanded the actress give him 60 percent of her assets and 300 million won in compensation, saying the marriage broke up due to her extramarital affairs.

The court, however, ruled that Park was also responsible for the broken marriage, as he came home late almost every day and spent much of his earnings on drinking and other entertainment.

``We allow the divorce, as the couple have reasons for divorce, including economic trouble, disputes from lack of talk, Park's lack of care of Ok, and Ok's extramarital affairs. As the two take almost the same responsibility for the failure of the marriage, both Park and Ok do not need to give compensation to each other,'' the court said.

Regarding assets, the court ordered Ok to give 870 million won from her assets worth 2.4 billion won. The court also granted Park custody of their eight-year-old daughter, ordering Ok to pay 1 million won per month in childcare expenses to Park until 2019.
