Pitcher Yoon Seok-min of the Kia Tigers is going to play for South Korea's Olympic baseball team instead of Lim Tae-hoon of the Doosan Bears.
``After Olympic head coach Kim Kyung-moon took counsel with the technique committee, he decided to change the pitcher Lim Tae-hoon to Yoon Seok-min because of Lim's bad condition," the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced Tuesday.
Lim, who gave up six earned runs in six innings in his last five KBO games, also struggled during an exhibition game against the Netherlands Olympic team Monday in Seoul.
Yoon, who's emerged as the ace of the Tigers' pitching staff this year, has 12 wins and ranks second in the KBO with a 2.47 ERA and third with 95 strikeouts.
Yoon, who was a reliever last year, could be used as a starter or reliever for the Olympic team. He was expected to join the team for training on Tuesday.
Olympic baseball teams are allowed to change up to five of their 24 players before Monday.
