An organization of South Korean Vietnam War veterans plans to build next year a rehabilitation center for Koreans and Vietnamese suffering from various ailments resulting from exposure to defoliants during the Vietnam war, the organization said Wednesday.

The Korea Disabled Veterans Organization will fund some $2 million to build the facility, it said. The facility will be built in Vietnam's Quang Nam Province, it said.

``The facility will be used to care for 80 to 100 war veterans or their descendants who suffer from illnesses after being exposed to Agent Orange during the war,'' the group said in a news release.

Officials of the organization met with officials from the Vietnamese provincial government later Wednesday in Hanoi and sign a memorandum of understanding, it said. The Quang Nam government has agreed to provide land for the new rehabilitation center as well as administrative assistance.
