Korean Air will expand its long-haul operations by adding Munich and Sao Paulo to its routes in June.

The carrier will start three weekly operations between Incheon and the southern German city of Munich from June 1, with a 260-seat B777-200 being used on the route.

With 35 years of operational history of flights to Europe since 1973, the service to Munich will make Korean Air the Asian carrier operating to the largest number of European cities ― 13.

The airline will also expand its code-sharing operation with European carriers, and put aircraft with audio and video on demand (AVOD) service systems on all European routes within three years.

To complete its global network to all six continents, Korean Air will resume services to Sao Paulo in South America from June 2, which had been suspended since October 2001.

Three weekly flights will fly to the Brazilian city via Los Angeles, with the flight time being around 26 hours.
