A state of the art biological resources institution with the largest storage facility in Asia opened in Incheon Wednesday.
The National Institute of Biological Resources has on display more than 4,600 specimens of 985 native Korean species and also provides a variety of educational programs to help support research.
Around 500 guests including President Roh Moo-hyun and Environment Minister Lee Kyoo-yong, were present at the opening ceremony held in the port city.
The institution plans to host various programs to increase public awareness of biological resources and their importance.
