`Techno Goliath' Choi Hong-man will have a chance to get revenge for his knockout defeat by Mighty Mo of the United States next month.
The Fighting & Entertainment Group (FEG), the parent company of K-1, announced Monday in a press conference in Seoul that the South Korean fighter would face Mo, also known as the Korean fighter killer, at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2007 in the Seoul Final 16 on September 29.
The American has knocked out three Korean fighters including Choi.
``This event, featuring the top 16 fighters, will be this year's best. Choi Hong-man has done a good job as South Korea's representative in the K-1. I hope he will avenge the loss,'' FEG President Sadaharu Tanigawa said.
The 2.18-meter giant was floored by Mo's right hook to the chin at the K-1 World Grand Prix in Yokohama.
``At that time, I was not in shape so that I did not train at all. However, as I really feel good and don't have any injury, I will have a good revenge match,'' Choi, 26, said.
He added: ``I am confident of this competition. My goal is advancing to the semifinals. I want to fight Remy Bonjasky or Jerome Le Banner.
Along with Choi and Mo, defending champion Semi Schilt, the legendary Peter Aerts, two-time champion Bonjasky and veteran Banner will step into the ring to excite South Korea's K-1 fans.
The other matches will be decided next week.
Former ssirum champion Kim Young-hyun, who signed with the K-1 recently, will make his debut in Seoul.
The 31-year-old, who stands 2.17 meters tall and weighs 156 kilograms, said, ``In my debut match, I will try to have a good fight for my fans.''
Meanwhile, Choi spoke on the controversy over his health regarding a tumor near his pituitary gland.
``I am really thankful for people's apprehension. I had a test in the United States recently and the doctor said I am okay to fight,'' he said.
