Korean named chair of OECD committee

Lee Si-hyung
Lee Si-hyung, Korean ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), was appointed chair of its audit committee at a board meeting in Paris, France, Tuesday.

“I will work to make sure the permanent delegation of Korea to the OECD carries out management that is effective,” he said. “I will work closely with Angel Gurria, secretary-general of the OECD to do so.”

The audit committee is a special body in the OECD that oversees the efficiency and transparency of the OECD’s operation, management and finances. Lee will take office in January for a one-year term.
