World-renowned disc jockeys will be in Seoul to participate in the second Seoul World DJ Festival from May 3-5.

The festival becomes an independent event from this year after the festival was held successfully as a part of ``Hi Seoul Festival'' hosted by the city government last year.

Stellar headliners for this year's festival, including DJ Dan, Ricky Stone, Rabbit In the Moon, and DJ Kawasaki, will bring groovy beats to the stage.

DJ Dan, born Daniel Wherret, is a professional recording artist on the Moonshine record label in the United States. DJ Dan, who has released 10 albums selling about 300,000 since 1996, has won the support of fans all over the world. He specializes in strong turntable rhythms from various genres such as house, techno and old school.

Ricky Stone, from the United Kingdom, is a veteran DJ who ranked 40th on DJ Magazine's Top 40. He also stole the limelight of Asian clubs, such as Japan's Womb, Taiwan's Ministry of Sound, Singapore's Liquid Room and China's Rojam, with his powerful and creative break beats.

Rabbit In the Moon is a representative electronic group from the United States, which has released 12 singles and numerous remix works and excels in live performances.

DJ Kawasaki, a DJ and producer, creates stylish and sensual sounds and is gaining popularity from Korea and will also groove festival-goers.

The Cornelius Group, who has paved the way for Japanese electronic music, will come to Korea for the first time.

Highly acclaimed producer, remixer, and DJ Adam F from the United Kingdom, who built a stellar reputation in the hip-hop world in the late '90s, will join the record artists' line-up. Adam has collaborated with rappers LL Cool J and Missy Elliott. He also is a founder of the British independent record label ``Breakbeat Kaos.''

Raphael Sebbag, a member of U.F.O. and world famous remixer and DJ from France, American top-notch house DJ Donald Glaud, and rising producer and record artist DJ Kai will also shine at the festival.

Korean DJs such as House Rulez and Oriental Funk Stew will perform together with the international DJs at the festival.

Aside from the main outdoor DJ party, various programs such as a cultural expo, rock festival, arts village and festival village will groove the three-day-long festival.
The second festival will bring DJing, along with daytime dances and visual jockey nighttime shows.

In addition to world-class DJ shows, Korean musicians such as Lee Sang-eun and Vodka Rain will be the main performers at the festival.

According to Foundation, a festival organizer, almost 50 percent of the audience was foreign at last year's festival.

Seoul World DJ Festival is held annually at the Nanji campsite in Seoul. Last year's festival made the audience fully unify under the motto ``Audience Zero, Participants 100 Percent.''
Last year's festival was the largest as more than 90,000 people attended over the three days.

Tickets cost 20,000 won per day. For more information, call (02) 3444-9989.
