The Korea Times is delighted to announce the winners of the 47th Modern Korean Literature Translation Awards.
No winner has been awarded the Grand Prize for either fiction or poetry this year.
The winners of the commendation awards in fiction are Stella Kim for her translation of Choi Jeong-hwas Denture, Steven Capener for his translation of Kim Young-has Oppa Came Back, and the team of Kim You-jeong and Amy Russ for their translation of Hwang Jeong-euns Where No One Had Ever Been.
We congratulate all winners and hope for a greater number of entries next year as Korean literature needs more skilled translators to reach global audiences. The contest was sponsored by KB Financial Group.
