Korean cable channel OCN’s drama “38 Revenue Collection Unit” has been sold to 10 countries.
“The publication rights of the drama were sold in China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand,” OCN said. “Audiences in those countries will be able to watch ‘38 Revenue Collection Unit’ at home.”
The drama recorded the highest viewership among OCN’s dramas, the network said. The eighth episode on July 9 had a 4 percent rating, according to market research firm Nielsen Korea.
“We are glad that the drama gained popularity not only in Korea but also in other countries where Korean romance comedies are usually more favored,” OCN said.
“38 Revenue Collection Unit” is a crime drama starring Don Lee, Seo In-Guk and singer-actress Sooyoung of K-pop band Girls’ Generation. The 16-episode series is about a civil servant and a swindler who collaborate to collect taxes from rich and evil people.
Lee plays the civil servant while Seo is the con artist. The singer-actress plays a Tax Collection Bureau officer.
