Nakwon Arcade seeks foreign supporters

Listen

Nakwon Arcade in Jongno, central Seoul, is looking for foreign supporters who will volunteer to promote the market and its musical wares.

"Nakwon Supporters" will spotlight the value of the city’s oldest and largest musical instrument arcade, holding about 300 stores, as a go-to place for musicians. Supporters will be selected in two batches, in the first and second halves of the year. The first round of applications closes May 1 and selected participants will be active from May to June.

Candidates who are selected as supporters are given free use of the building’s rehearsal studio and a monthly stipend. Supporters will share their views or stories related to Nakwon Arcade on social media channels. They will be encouraged to hold busking performances in the Insa-dong and Nakwon-dong region and given the chance to perform at the outdoor stage on the fourth floor of the building.

Those interested may apply online through Nakwon Arcade's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/nakwonmusic) or blog (https://blog.naver.com/enakwon). Applicants may choose from acoustic band, ensemble or brass and each team must consist of two to five members.
