K-pop boy band members often attract fans with their appearance, not musical talent. But this does not apply to at least these four: G-Dragon, Zico, Jonghyun and Jinyoung.

They are good looking but also possess exceptional talent in songwriting, producing and dancing, plus other abilities that make them successful musicians.

The Korea Times looks at the four who have distinguished themselves from mass-produced singers.

G-Dragon from Big Bang

G-Dragon, a leader of Big Bang, has written and composed many of the group's hit songs, including "Bang Bang Bang," "Fantastic Baby," "Loser," "Still Alive" and "We Like 2 Party." He gave iKon, YG management's boy band, the song "I Miss You So Bad" for the group's debut full album. It was reported he receives a royalty of 800 million won ($689,934) a year.

Zico from Block B

Rapper Zico, a leader of Block B, has produced Block B's albums. He wrote all the tracks in Block B's debut album "Do U Wanna B?"

After participating in writing and composing the title track "Tell Them" on the group's first mini-album, he developed his reputation as a producer.

Zico appeared as a judge in television rap competition "Show Me the Money," exhibiting his production abilities.

Jonghyun from SHINee

Jonghyun, a main vocalist of SHINee, released the solo album "Base" filled with his own songs in January last year. It topped various music charts.

He has contributed his songwriting talents to several artists, including EXO, Lee Hi, Son Dam-bi and IU.

Jinyoung has written and composed several of the band's songs, including "What's going on?" "Lonely" and "Solo Day."

Besides the group's album, he created songs "In the Same Place" and "When Cherry Blossoms Fade" for Mnet's TV girl band audition show "Produce 101" and "One Step Two Steps" for girl group "Oh My Girl"
