■Tickets to K-pop boy group VIXX's concerts July 19 and 20 sold out in nine minutes, Jellyfish Entertainment said. Such was the rush to buy tickets online at 8 p.m. on June 9, the server crashed. The 7,000 seats available for each performance at Olympic Hall in Seoul were sold out, and fans who could not get tickets called Jellyfish Entertainment for an explanation.
The concerts will be the first for the six-membered VIXX since its debut two years ago. The Seoul concerts mark the start of a world tour. VIXX's fourth single, "ETERNITY," was voted number one song on SBS's "The Music Trend" on June 8.
■Onew, a member of the entertainment group SHINee, has recently undergone a vocal nodules surgery.
An SM entertainment official said on June 11 that Onew underwent the procedure at a Seoul hospital on June 3. SHINee is a popular five-member group that is part of SM entertainment.
Formed in 2008, the group consists of Onew, Jong-hyun, Key, Min-ho, and Tae-min, and is known for its hit songs "Replay" and "Lucifer." Aside from working as a group, the members also carry out individual activities in acting and musicals. Because of the surgery, Onew will be unable to appear in the musical "Singing in the Rain" as scheduled.
■Actress Ha Ji-won is trying her hand at singing, HAEWAdAL Entertainment announced June 12. Ha, who starred in the MBC historical drama "Empress Ki," has released a digital single. Jung Kyung-Soon who edited "Empress Ki" wrote the lyrics and Jung Jae-Yoon, a member of the famous 90's group "Solid," took part in the song's production. The lyrics will be publically released on music sites on June 13. Ha has previously doubled as the face for the Korean singer_Wax's song "Oppa."
Ha will also participate in a fan meeting on June 28 in Tokyo, where she will sing her new song.
