Korean actor Lee Byung-hun will soon leave for Hollywood to star in the third installment of the "G.I. Joe" movie series. Lee's agency, BH Entertainment, said Tuesday that he will go to the U.S. later this month after finishing his latest film "Hyupnyeo," which ends shooting in early February.

His appearance in the third "G.I. Joe" movie is hardly news, since he was featured in the first two installments of the series. Yet, his part in the upcoming movie is expected to be bigger than his previous appearances, the agency said.

Despite a production cost of $175 million production, the first installment released in 2009 didn't enjoy the commercial success expected in North America, taking in a disappointing $152 million in ticket sales. Yet, ticket sales in Asia were relatively strong, prompting some to credit Lee for its success in the region.
