Taking out business partners to a restaurant with the exotic atmosphere of a Southeast Asian resort could be a highlight of your meeting. You can often get more than you want in business deals when you and your partners are having casual conversations for which a relaxed ambience is essential.

Tani that serves both Asian and European cuisines within the same course is the ultimate place where you and your business counterpart can break the ice at the first meeting.

“You can enjoy fancy Japanese cuisine combined with French here while having business meetings. Eating on the terrace decorated with plants and a pond makes you feel like dining out during a vacation,” Amy Oh, a manager of Tani, says.

“An a la carte menu is available while customers can choose different dishes and make up their own course. I think this is the main reason why this restaurant became popular among foreigners.”

Tani’s regular customers include ambassadors from Australia, the United Kingdom and Chile, and bankers from international investment banks such as JP Morgan, CLSA and Macquarie.

Foreign guests visit Tani to indulge in its creative dishes made of fresh ingredients. While foreigners in general prefer Japanese food for important occasions, the French touch to the menu reduces sushi beginners’ unfamiliarity.

Tani’s menu changes on a weekly basis. Pork belly, Koreans’ favorite part of pork, marinated in red miso and grilled with various vegetables, is one of the most popular dishes.

Private rooms for meetings are available, and the restaurant holds garden parties on its terrace. The kitchen is open, showing the whole process of cooking.
