FT announces rankings

The Financial Times (FT) recently announced the top 100 full-time global MBA programs for 2012 and Stanford Graduate School of Business topped the list. Sungkyunkwan Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB), the only Korean business school on the list, was ranked 66th, which is the highest position achieved thus far by a domestic institution.

Harvard Business School and the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, were ranked second and third respectively while Hong Kong UST Business School was the only Asian institution on the top 10 list. The British business newspaper published internationally ranked London Business School the fourth and Columbia Business School the fifth.

SKK GSB received high scores in the field of globalization efforts and graduates’ career progress. The ranking achieved by SKK GSB is 33 places higher than that of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2011.

Asian alliance

Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy (ICS) entered a partnership with the College of Business Administration & Graduate School of Business at Seoul National Univeristy and Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, forming the "Best" Business School alliance, the institution announced on Jan. 26.

“The BEST Business School Alliance provides a platform for business leaders, academicians, and students in these three nations to develop a deeper understanding of each other’s economy, business, society and culture, as well as other important business-related aspects that are unique to the partner countries,” Hitotsubashi said in a statement.

The alliance plans for joint educational collaboration in degree and non-degree programs and researches in business and management, which will involve student exchange programs, dual degree programs, study tours of partner schools, faculty and staff exchanges and join researches and publications.
