Kia Motors unveiled a fully remodeled version of the Carnival Thursday for the domestic market, targeting the multipurpose vehicles (MPVs) market.
The new minivan, the All New Carnival, is the third generation of the brand and a replacement for the 9-year-old Carnival.
"The third-generation Carnival is focused on offering more space, the most important element for a minivan," said Kia Motors President Lee Sam-ung.
Lee said the new minivan has upgraded safety features and adopted sporty but classic new designs.
For the domestic market, the new vehicle has seating arrangements for nine to 11 people. Its unique pop-up sinking seats enable the driver to use greater space as four of its back seats are foldable.
The new Carnival will start at 29.9 million won and go all way up to 36.4 million won for the fully loaded model.
Carnival is one of the best-selling minivans in Korea, selling a total of 570,000 vehicles in the domestic market and 890,000 in the overseas market since the first-generation model was launched in 1998.
