Covering every aspect of the power generation industry, the event will consist of POWER-GEN Asia, Renewable Energy World Asia and POWER-GEN Asia Financial Forum. The three-day event will feature technical tours, more than 50 conference sessions, panel discussions, a comprehensive exhibition and multiple networking events.
After changing its name to Asia Power Week from ASEAN Power Week in an effort to develop it into a pan-Asia event, the event will host more than 8,000 attendees and 260 exhibitors from 85 countries.
"I am really excited about this year's event because it takes place for the first time outside Southeast Asian countries," the event director Dr. Heather Johnstone told The Korea Times.
"Now, we are having discussions with the Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO), Doosan Infracore and other Korean energy companies over their participation and possible exhibits. Japanese companies and government agencies including Mitsubishi Electric and the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) are also expected to join us."
The event's leading forum in its 24-year history, POWER-GEN Asia, is Asia's largest platform for the power industry to meet, share information and discuss solutions to advance Asia's energy future.
Reflecting the power industry's interests in green and sustainable energy, Renewable Energy World Asia has grown year-on-year to become a leading exhibition and conference for the Asian renewable and alternative energy industry.
POWER-GEN Asia Financial Forum ― in its third year at the event ― is a platform where financing renewable and conventional power projects in Asia are explored, and is designed to provide corporate-level project developers and financiers an opportunity to learn, network and conduct business.
"We had the all-time record of some 8,300 visitors at last year's event in Bangkok, Thailand. I am expecting more visitors will visit the event this year," said Johnstone.
