Harim exports 'samgyetang' to US

Kim Hong-guk, fifth from left, chairman of Harim, cuts a ribbon with VIP guests to celebrate the firm's first export of "samgyetang" (chicken and ginseng soup) to the United States at the firm's headquarters in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, Thursday. Harim is Korea's first samgyetang-exporting company. Its first batch of the meal, weighing 42.3 tons, will arrive at a port in Los Angeles and New York in early August and then go on sale after clearing inspection by the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service.
