S. Korea's exports grow 9 pct on-year in April

The nation's exports rose 9 percent from a year earlier last month with imports also growing at a steady pace, the government said Thursday.

Outbound shipments came to US$50.31 billion in April, while imports rose 5 percent on-year to $45.85 billion, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The country's trade surplus widened to $4.46 billion last month from $2.45 billion in April 2013, marking the 27th consecutive month of surplus. (Yonhap)

지난달 수출이 호조를 보이며 27개월 연속 무역수지 흑자 행진을 했다.

산업통상자원부는 4월 수출이 503억1천500만달러, 수입이 458억5천200만달러로 작년 같은 달보다 각각 9.0%, 5.0% 증가했다고 1일 밝혔다.

이에 따라 무역수지는 44억6천200만달러 흑자를 기록했다. 무역수지는 2012년 2월 이후 흑자 기조를 이어갔다.
