FSS holds job fair in New York

By Park Ji-won

The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) held a job fair in New York from Sept. 28 to 29 to help Korean financial companies recruit overseas talent, the regulator said Monday.

The FSS said that as many as 373 U.S. job seekers with high educational backgrounds attended the fair, which had 17 Korean financial services providers participating. The regulator said that 68 applicants were picked, but their hiring is dependent on them passing the final interview.

The participating firms are leading banks and brokerage houses, including Kookmin Bank, Shinhan Bank and Korea Development Bank, and Korea Investment and Securities and Samsung Securities.

The FSS plans to hold a similar job fair in Beijing in December for the first time in China to help financial firms recruit Chinese talent.
