STX launches world’s largest ore carrier: STX Group Chairman Kang Duk-soo delivers a speech during a naming ceremony for the world’s largest ore carrier at the firm’s shipyard in Dalian, China, Monday. The carrier, named Vale Espirito Santo, is nearly triple the size of a soccer field and capable of carrying 400,000 tons of ores at a maximum speed of 14.8 knots.
