Woman poses as teenage boy to trick girl into sex

A 24-year-old woman from Quincy, Mass., was arrested May 24 for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl after introducing herself as a 17-year-old male. She was charged with sexual penetration of a minor by crossing state lines.

Carissa Hads met the West Virginia girl online under the name “James Puryear Wilson” in October 2010 and pretended to be the father of twin sons, reported the police.

During their 14 months of communication, Hads bought the girl cell phones, which she used to send Hads nude pictures of herself, according to the affidavit.

In December 2011, the two met at a Pennsylvania motel, accompanied by the girl’s mother who paid for the visit and for Hads to stay in a separate room. During the evening, the affidavit charges, Hads “digitally penetrated” the 15-year-old minor.

Two months later, Hads had a second sexual encounter with the underaged girl at her house in West Virginia, which involved vaginal penetration with a prosthetic penis. The girl later became suspicious that Hads did not undress during the interaction and wore a back brace to cover her breasts.

Hads allegedly threatened a 15-year-old acquaintance of the girl, who reportedly questioned her true identity.

If convicted, she faces up to 30 years in jail, reported the local media.

미국 허핑턴포스트 등 현지 언론의 11일자 보도에 따르면 매사추세츠 주에 사는 캐리사 하즈(24)는 자신을 ‘제임스 퍼리어 윌슨’이라는 이름의 17세 소년이라고 소개하고, 웨스트버지니아주에 사는 15세 소녀를 유혹한 혐의를 받고 있다.

‘윌슨’과 피해 소녀는 지난 2010년 10월 SNS를 통해 알게 된 뒤 인터넷 상에서 주기적인 만남을 가져왔다.

당시 이 피해 소녀는 ‘윌슨’을 남자라고 믿고 있었으며, 2011년 12월 연락을 시작한지 14개월 만에 매사추세츠 주의 한 모텔에서 서로의 모습을 확인한 뒤 성관계를 가졌다. 관계 당시 ‘윌슨’은 미리 준비한 가짜 플라스틱 성기를 이용한 것으로 드러났다.

그는 머리를 짧게 자른 상태였지만 예쁘장한 외모와 158㎝의 작은 몸집 때문에 중성적인 느낌을 물씬 풍겼던 것으로 추측된다.

이 소녀는 진술서에서 “당시 그(그녀)는 보호대를 가슴에 차고 있었다 그리고 단 한 번도 그가 옷을 모두 벗은 것을 본 적이 없다.”고 증언했다.

몇 차례 만남 뒤 소녀는 ‘윌슨’이 남자가 아니라는 의심을 품기 시작했고 결국 지난 달 소녀의 신고로 윌슨은 피츠버그의 한 약속장소에서 경찰에 체포됐다.

현지 언론은 “그녀의 죄가 입증된다면 최소 30년 형에 처해질 것”이라고 전했다.
