Insurance and securities do not seem to have many things in common. However, the head of Samsung Securities, who has a background in insurance firms, has proven that there is some common ground at least when it comes to management.

Samsung Securities CEO Park Chun-hyeon worked for Samsung Life Insurance for almost 30 years. His specialty is in asset management and strategy planning. When he was an executive at the strategy planning division of the Samsung Group, he led several big tasks successfully, including the maximization of Samsung Securities and establishing Samsung Investments.

Since he took office as CEO of Samsung Securities, Park achieved big things, such as advancing into the Hong Kong IB market, adopting advanced asset management skills, and innovations through brand management.

Park often tells employees not to rush for short-term profit, but to focus on sustainable growth with a long-term perspective. The 56-year-old Incheon native prefers employees who challenge their limits and change existing models with creative minds.

Park made Samsung's slogan "Create with you," as a way to describe the company's plan to make a new type of financial firm with its customers.

The Seoul National University graduate regards customers as the company's partners, and vows to return their trust with values.

"We will continuously strive to guard our role as your most trusted financial partner. We value the trust you have given us and see it as our mission to deliver on that trust," Park said on the company's official Web site.

"To that end, we are streamlining our business portfolio to focus on service that brings more value to our customers."
