LG Electronics has been an innovator in the premium home appliances market, and its new air conditioners launched in January for this summer show how far it has come in technology.
“Marine Boy Special,” one of the 42 new models LG launched in the market this year shows how LG Electronics pushes the boundaries of imagination. It decreased the bulk of the air conditioner by two thirds that of previous models by optimizing air flow and remodeling. It also added the “Whisen Mini,” a dehumidifier and air purifier.
Users can separate the “Whisen Mini” from the air conditioner or use it as attached. Hence, it will be useful for them in seasons other than summer, and they can easily use it anywhere, moving it to wherever they need it. The filter of “Whisen Mini” gets rid of 99.9 percent of bacteria, including ones that cause swine and avian flu, and super bacteria.
As the new air conditioner sends cool air in four directions up, down, left and right, it cools down the room faster. It takes three minutes less to reach the temperature that the user wants, thus saving energy.
LG Electronics applied super inverter energy saving technology to all the air conditioners it launched this year. As they automatically control room air conditioning based on temperatures both indoor and outdoor, users can save up to 88 percent of previous charges.
The air conditioners by LG aim at making the atmosphere as fresh as the breeze on a mountain. LG sent over 100 research staff members to Seorak Mountain over the past eight years, where they measured the velocity, frequency and other features of fresh breezes. If the user chooses the “forest mode” on the air conditioner, it generates air 80 percent similar to a natural breeze. Through fMRI analysis, LG proved that the “forest mode” air conditioning makes people feel happier.
The air conditioners also automatically control the temperature by estimating the skin temperature, maintaining the skin temperature at between 33.5 degrees Celsius and 34.5, where people feel most fresh. It senses the number of people, their location, and their action, to optimize the direction and the intensity of the breeze.
