Renault Samsung Motor unveiled an Around View Monitoring (AVM) system that provides a virtual 360-degree view of objects around the vehicle for its flagship luxury SM7 sedan, Wednesday.

The innovative system features four small, wide-angle cameras located on the front, side mirrors and rear of the vehicle, which create and display a virtual image of the vehicle from above.

The automaker said the new system will allow motorists to enjoy a safer and convenient driving experience.

“The new system has only been equipped on a limited number of imported cars or very expensive vehicles,” an official from the carmaker said. “Now, people can enjoy the functions at affordable prices, and it will give the SM7 a stronger competitive edge.”

The AVM system is available in the SM7 LE AVM or drivers can additionally install the system to the SM7 LE at an additional cost of 1.8 million won.
