PCA hosts festival for seniors

PCA Life Insurance Korea provides a wide range of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs from donations to senior citizens to scholarships for graduate students and funds for children.

PCA has sponsored senior community centers monthly since 2009 in cooperation with HelpAge Korea. Employees of PCA present flowers to seniors every Parents Day, which falls on May 8. They also have offered presents and letters on Lunar New Year’s Day.

PCA Korea also practices a CSR program titled “The Chairman’s Challenge,” which its global group based in the U.K. promotes at subsidiaries all over the world. The company donates 150 pounds ($242) per employee who was registered as a volunteer for CSR activities. PCA Korea donated 23 million won to HelpAge as 90 employees decided to take part in the program this year.

Also the company has hosted a sports festival for the seniors along with HelpAge every October to celebrate Seniors Month. They play and have lunch together while enjoying the nation’s beautiful seasonal weather.

PCA also offers scholarships for students who pursue master degree programs in the United Kingdom in cooperation with the British Embassy. The company pays part of the tuition and living expenses for a year to help them become leaders in various fields.

Previously the insurer hosted an English education program titled PCA English Adventure for three years from 2007 to 2009.
