Samsung TV models top British market

Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. remained the top TV seller in the British market in the first two months of this year, an industry report showed Wednesday.

Samsung claimed 46.1 percent of the 3D TV market in Britain in the January-February period, with its market share reaching 43.7 percent for light-emitting diode (LED) TVs and 43.1 percent for smart TVs, according to market researcher GfK Group.

The company also grabbed 32.8 percent of the flat-panel TV market, a figure that nearly matches the combined 34.5 percent market share garnered by three other major industry players.

Samsung's top market status in Britain comes as its TV models have received good reviews from British media outlets.

Home Cinema Choice, a British consumer review magazine, recently gave the top score for the company's smart TV model ES8000. In March, What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision, another consumer magazine, gave full marks to Samsung's 2012 premium smart TV model. (Yonhap)
