Korea signed a preliminary agreement with the government of Ghana to cooperate on the African country's port development projects, officials said Saturday.
Under the agreement, South Korea will provide support to Ghana on mapping out plans for Ghana's port development and help nurture experts, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said.
In return, Ghana agreed to offer support to South Korean companies that may participate in the Ghanaian port projects, it said.
The West African country is considering building a new port and expanding facilities in the port of Takoradi, in a bid to stimulate local industries. (Yonhap)
