Many Koreans believe that blood type dictates personality, and according to a recent survey they also think it may affect what job they are likely to have.

According to the poll by Job Korea, a job market information provider, those with blood type A were more likely to work in finance and accounting.

"People with blood type A are generally considered to be sincere and prudent, and seek stability. They are not as insistent as others," a Job Korea executive said.

For people with type B, meanwhile, sales seemed to be their talent. Near half of those surveyed who had type B worked in sales, with the remainder being in design or sales support.

These people are thought to have a liberal view on life, and to be creative, progressive and emotional, according to Job Korea.

A third of professionals had type AB, with others of the type being involved in IT or sales.

"Those with blood type AB are said to be rational, sincere and ethical. They are also considered to be analytical and critical people," the executive said.

People with type O blood are thought of as positive, aggressive and realistic, he added.

Some 62.3 percent of respondents believed that their personality was affected by their blood type.

Among people with type A, 42.2 percent said salary and incentives were their priority in looking for a job, followed by their working environment and benefits.

Those with other types, meanwhile, chose the latter conditions as most important.

People with blood type B seemed to have a better chance of becoming a CEO. The survey showed that one-third of CEOs who responded had type B, followed by types O and A.
