AIG General Insurance announced its new brand ``Chartis'' Monday under which the country's oldest foreign insurance firm will attract customers down the road.
The insurer said the title derives from the Greek word for map, which represents its corporate goal of setting a course for clients and help them pursue new possibilities.
``Since our establishment in 1954, we have been offering products and services to meet the needs of Korean consumers,'' CEO Brad Bennett of Chartis in Korea told a press conference held in Seoul.
``Chartis will represent the same company, which has served Koran customers with in-depth local expertise for the last 55 years, and will continue to carry on an unwavering commitment to the Korean market with the leverage of our strong global network, which has been the hallmark of our 90-year experience around the word,'' he said.
He added that Chartis will launch ``Travel Guard,'' as a marketing brand for the global travel businesses of the company in early November. The firm has been said to have a knack in overseas travel insurance.
