Children most welcomed guests in May

Saturday is Children’s Day where little ones here are treated like princes and princesses.

Hotels are offering various food promotions and events to celebrate the day and May, the month of the family.

The Grand Hyatt Seoul’s buffet restaurant, The Terrace, presents Grand Family Lunch Buffet on Saturdays through Oct. 27.

Aside from buffet dining that includes a variety of meat, fresh seafood, side dishes and desserts, many exciting activities have been prepared such as arts, crafts and games to keep children entertained throughout lunch.

The outside terrace of the restaurant will be transformed into a children’s playground during the promotion, so parents can enjoy their meal without having to entertain their children.

During May, the Kid’s Activities Program will include organic soap making, face painting, art and paper puzzles.

Lunch is available between noon and 3 p.m., and the price starts from 60,000 won for adults and 30,000 won for children. For more information, call 02-799-8166.



The Ritz-Carlton Seoul will present its Magic and Bubble Gala Show on Saturday.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., various festivities will be offered including a b-boy show, taekwondo performance, an English-language musical and a showing of Disney animation “Cars 2.”

For dinner, a buffet is available with delicacies such as king crab, rib eye steak, giant prawns and lamb chops along with a live cooking station for favorite children’s dishes.

The Westin Chosun Seoul offers Play with Gymboree buffet menus on Children’s Day.

All restaurants on the lower lobby floor _ Hong Yuan, Aria and Vecchia e Nuovo _ will be transformed into a theme park full of Gymboree characters and offer the special menus including waffles, pasta, pizza, cotton candy and popcorn.

Children who order the buffet will receive an Ogo Bild Link construction set, wind-up toys and a Gymboree twirling spaghetti fork. The Gymboree Play World will be set up in the Grand Ballroom, providing games and Gymboree toys.

The buffet is priced at 100,000 won for adults and 50,000 won for children. For more information, call 02-317-0404.

The Sheraton Incheon Hotel’s buffet restaurant Feast will offer specialized dishes to its young guests on Children’s Day, such as fried chicken with honey mustard, hot dogs and noodles with black bean sauce.

For the children, the restaurant will invite them to take part in various events such as face painting, cotton candy making, character drawing activities and photo time.

The buffet is priced at 54,500 won for adults and 27,250 won for children. For more information, call 032-835-1000.

Many other hotels are also offering various events on Children’s Day. The Imperial Palace Seoul’s staff will dress up as clowns and provide children with balloons shaped as puppies, flowers or swords; cooking or cake baking classes are offered at the Hyatt Regency Jeju, Millennium Seoul Hilton, Grand Ambassador Seoul and Lotte Hotel Seoul; The Hyatt Regency Incheon will hold a pottery making class; and the Plaza is preparing a special play zone with a bouncy castle.
